Welcome to the Community View section of the website. This area is dedicated to articles of interest, community information and local topics that are submitted by members of the public or guest writers. It is also the main section dedicated to the Youth Media Group Project.
The construction of the 2nd Coastal Rowing Skiff by Blyth Community Rowing Club, in conjunction with Blyth Academy, has only been under way for 6 weeks but great progress has been made in this time. The students of Blyth Academy have shown keen interest in developing the skills needed to build a 22ft, sea going, oar powered craft. The last build session before the Easter break saw planks 5 & 6 attached to the frame, with only 6 more planks to complete the 1st phase of the construction of the skiff before the internal fit out.
